Multiple people shot overnight
BOSTON — A late night party turned violent in Boston when four people were shot just after midnight Saturday.
Officers responded to Copeland Street in Roxbury where they learned multiple people had been shot. Three of the shooting victims had injuries described as serious.
A cousin of the one of the victims told Newscenter 5 she was outside at the time when all of a sudden she heard shots ring out and ran. She said her cousin is expected to survive.
The victims are four men in their late 20s and early 30s according to Boston Police Commissioner William Evans, who said they’ve had issues at the home specifically. A child was shot at the same residence last year.
Evans said two men were seen running from the scene amidst an unruly crowd.
About a half hour later, police say there was another shooting on Elder Street in Roxbury. A 25-year-old man was grazed by a bullet. He was taken to Boston Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Just a few miles way, a shooting rang out outside a Burger King on Cummins Highway in Mattapan. One man was shot in the upper torso while he was inside his car. Evans said the victim’s injuries are serious, but he is expected to survive.
