JOHNSON COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) – Johnson County Deputy Coroner Harry Frisby told WYMT five people are dead in Johnson County.
Police responded to a shooting at a residence around 3:40 Saturday afternoon in the Volga community of Johnson County near Flat Gap. Investigators found a man and a woman dead at the home in Volga off KY- 172. Sheriff Dwayne Price says they were in the kitchen and Kentucky State Police were quickly notified for assistance.
An alert was then sent out to multiple counties to look for a Camry (the car the suspected shooter left in).
While searching for the suspect, Troopers were called to a home on Mill Street where they found the suspect’s vehicle parked outside. They found two females and a male dead inside. Police say the suspected shooter believed to be among the dead.
“This has been a horrific murder spree. The lives of four innocent victims were taken. The perpetrator then took his own life. There are no words to describe the heartbreak in seeing four lives taken due to the actions of one man” said Sheriff Price. “I have worked in law enforcement for 34 years. This is one of the most disturbing acts of violence I have ever seen.”
