LOWNDES COUNTY, AL (WSFA) – Six people are recovering from non-life-threatening injuries after multiple shots were fired late Sunday night at a Lowndes County bar.

Sgt. Lenny Lee with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to the BIG SWAMP Lounge on U.S. Highway 80 West in the Whitehall area around 11 p.m.

Lee said the six gunshot victims were taken to a Montgomery hospital via a passenger car before law enforcement arrived on the scene.

Among those shot was the suspect, Lee confirmed. None of the victims’ names, nor that of the suspect, have been released and no arrests have been made at this point.

The investigation is ongoing. A motive was not made available.
