1 dead, 4 hurt in shooting near Coors Field

DENVER — One person was killed and four others were wounded in a shooting near the intersection of 21st and Lawrence streets in Denver on Monday afternoon, the Denver Police Department said.

It was unclear what caused the shooting and no one has been arrested. Police spokesman Doug Schepman said investigators did not know whether more than one shooter was involved and had no descriptions of any suspects.

The shooting happened just after 4 p.m. at the busy intersection, which is about two blocks from Coors Field. Police had a large presence until around 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. The four other victims were transported to Denver Health Medical Center in stable condition.

The identifies of the people involved have not been released.

The incident remains under investigation.
