JERSEY CITY – Five people were shot early Saturday morning on Lexington Avenue, authorities said.

Just after 2 a.m., police responded to the area of Lexington Avenue and Kennedy Boulevard where they found two victims with gunshot wounds, according to city spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione.

The two victims were brought to Jersey City Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries, Wallace-Scalcione said. Three other victims, meanwhile, were separately dropped off at the hospital by an unknown vehicle.

Wallace-Scalcione did not provide additional information.

One of the victims was a female, sources said.

“I walked by her… I knew her; I saw the holes in her body,” said a woman on Lexington Avenue who declined to give her name.

Authorities said all of the victims were involved in the same incident. They were treated for non-life threatening injuries and were discharged, Wallace-Scalcione said.

This morning’s attack follows Tuesday’s deadly shooting, when Darrell Rush, 31, was shot in the head by his cousin, Tavon Rush, in the area of Martin Luther King Drive and Bidwell Avenue, officials said.

Tavon Rush 35, of Jersey City, was arrested by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and Jersey City Police Department Friday afternoon and charged with aggravated manslaughter.
