LAKEWOOD, WA  One man is dead and three are injured after a nightclub shooting in Lakewood early Sunday morning. The DJ at the New World VIP Lounge remembers hearing “last call” and then gunshots and everything was “just chaos.”

Sable Myers, aka “DJ Ravish,” was inside the New World VIP Lounge when shots rang out around 1:30 a.m.

“It really happened fast in just a short period of time,” Myers said. “You just hear a bunch of chaos. I tried to keep the music going so there wouldn’t be any issue and they wouldn’t be gravitating to the fight and then they started shooting and stuff.”

As many as 20 shots were fired inside the club and outside the building, according to police. Four people were hit — one of them died. The remaining three are expected to recover.

One of them is Myer’s friend — a 26-year-old woman who was just standing by the door when she was struck by bullets in the back, rib and lower body.

“It happened so fast,” Myers said. “Everyone tried to rush out. I don’t think she even realized she was hit until she went down. She got shot in three different places. She’s ok. She’s alert. She’s talking. I talked to her before I left the hospital.”

The club was packed and Myers says more than 100 people were inside.

“I’m grateful a lot of people didn’t get hurt,” Myers said.

Police say the surveillance pictures show three suspected male shooters running from the scene. According to witnesses, they were men in their 20s or 30s. One of the shooters was wearing some type of track outfit, possibly an Adidas brand with a blue knit cap.
