ORLANDO, FL – An 83-year-old woman is dead and four others were rushed to a hospital after a shootout in Orange County.

Authorities confirmed Saturday afternoon that five people were shot outside a home on 24th Street in some type of shootout.

One of the five, Ruby Steplight, died, while the others were taken to hospitals with injuries that were not life-threatening. One of the victims was taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital.

Detective said a group of people were walking down the sidewalk when a black car was driven down the street. Officials said that’s when gunfire came started from both direction.

Billy Desrosiers, 29, was arrested and charged with first degree murder and attempted murder.

Officials believe an altercation at another location led to the shooting, but witnesses to the shooting have been unhelpful.
