Man arrested for possessing shotgun

SAINT LOUIS, MO – A Topeka man was arrested Wednesday afternoon after police made a traffic stop and discovered he was illegally possessing a firearm.

Brandon D. Baker, 24, was stopped about 12:40 p.m. in the 1600 block of S.W. Topeka Blvd. for alleged traffic violations, Topeka police Lt. Aaron Jones said.

He was arrested for an outstanding warrant and officers also located suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a shotgun.

Baker, who has a prior felony conviction, was arrested in connection with possession of the contraband and the firearm, Jones said.
