SAN ANTONIO – An argument between neighbors turned physical and violent, resulting in four people being shot and a man being arrested late Wednesday night on the city’s West Side, police said.

When officers with the San Antonio Police Department arrived in the 100 block of Holly Street at 11:09 p.m., they found a “hostile” man in the street, a police report said.

Two officers tried to subdue the man, but they were met with resistance and a struggle ensued, the report said.

The man was taken into custody after officers shocked him with a stun gun, the report said.

Three gunshot victims were found lying on the street and the fourth victim was found seated on a sidewalk, police said.

A 39-year-old woman and a juvenile were hit by shotgun fragments. A 35-year-old man and his 17-year-old son were hit multiple times by a high-powered rifle and were taken to University Hospital in critical condition.

The two officers who got into the struggle with the man were taken to a hospital with minor injuries, police said.

Abelardo Garcia III, 22, was arrested and charged with four counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He is being held in the Bexar County Jail in lieu of $300,000 bail.
