SAN FRANCISCO, CA – One of the six people taken to the hospital following a shooting that involved a San Francisco Police Department officer and five others Wednesday has died.

Suisun resident Jehad Eid, 21, a suspect in the incident, was pronounced dead Wednesday evening. The injured officer was shot in the leg and remains in fair condition, Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital officials said.

San Francisco Police Department Chief William Scott said officers at around 4:30 p.m. responded to reports of a man with a gun in the 200 block of Amazon Avenue, near the Outer Mission and Crocker-Amazon neighborhoods.

Officers tracked down and made contact with the suspect at a business on the corner of Geneva Avenue and London Street. Shots were then exchanged, Scott said.

The officer and five others, including the suspect, were struck by gunfire, Scott said. Hospital officials said one of the people wounded by gunfire is a minor, who has since been discharged.

The four others injured in the shooting are men ranging in ages from 24 to 48, officials said. Of those four, one man was listed in critical condition and another man in serious condition, according to officials.
