SAN FRANCISCO, CA – One man was fatally shot and five others were wounded late Friday in San Francisco’s Bayview district, police said.

Officers responded to the shooting around 11 p.m. near the intersection of Third Street and Quesada Avenue.

Six men were shot, and one of the victims, a 20-year-old man, has died, police Sgt. Michael Andraychak said in a statement.

“The victims are believed to have been standing in close proximity to one another,” Andraychak said. The wounded were transported to San Francisco General Hospital. “The suspect is unknown,” Andraychak said.

As of Saturday morning, three of the men had been discharged from the hospital, said Brent Andrew, a spokesman for San Francisco General Hospital.

One man, 24, was still suffering from life-threatening wounds Saturday afternoon, Andraychak said. The injuries of the other four men — ages 19, 23, 24 and 31 — were all non-life-threatening. All the victims were from San Francisco.
