3 arrested, 6 injured after multiple shootings

SWAINSBORO, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) — Multiple people are injured after two nights of shootings in Swainsboro.

The first incident happened Wednesday night after 10:00 p.m. on Martin Luther King, Jr., Boulevard. Swainsboro officers were called out for shots fired at homes and cars, but they didn’t find anything.

More shots were fired within 10 minutes of police arriving on scene, this time coming from Project Street and Lewis Street. No arrests have been made in that shooting.

Three people are behind bars after a second shooting on Thursday night on Lucky Street, around 9:30 p.m.

In that shooting, a car was blocking the street and weapons were sitting behind it. The car was vacant.

Six people were injured in that shooting on Lucky Street, including a 59-year-old man and his 11-year-old granddaughter. The man was airlifted to a hospital, and the girl is at CHOG.

Four other people were found injured as well, two of them with gunshot wounds and two with unidentified injuries.

Police are searching for two additional suspects at this time.
