Man arrested in connection to shooting

WICHITA FALLS, TX – Wichita Falls police have one man in custody charged in connection with an overnight shooting that left one man dead and three other people injured in Wichita Falls.

Following an investigation, detectives were led to a residence in the 1500 block of Central Freeway, where one man was taken into custody and charged with four counts of deadly conduct, according to a Sunday afternoon news release.

An evidentiary search warrant was also served on the residence, the release stated.

While the release did not identify the suspect, Trevon Demarcus Johnson, 19, has been charged with four counts of deadly conduct and lives at a residence in the 1500 block of Central Freeway, according to the Wichita County Jail online inmate roster.

Johnson was booked into the county jail at 3:53 p.m. Sunday. His bail had not been set as of 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

According to an earlier WFPD press release, the incident began around 3:30 a.m. when police were sent to the 2400 block of Sheppard Access Road for a disturbance at Studio E.

Once on scene, officers found several people who had been shot.

The release stated that Davonta Jason Combs, 26, had been shot in the chest and died from his injuries.

Trevon Strawn, 24, suffered gunshot wounds to his chest and right leg; Motrezjah Johnson, 18, to the stomach; and Keisha Wallace, 35, to her right foot.

All three people were being treated for their injuries.

Detectives responded to the scene, along with the department’s identification unit.

The case is still under investigation.
